In May BlueStacks made a surprise announcement they would be releasing GamePop, a subscription based games mini console based on Android to compete with Ouya and a future Google offering.
BlueStacks have just added to that announcing GamePop Mini. Over it’s bigger brother at $129 the Mini will be free to those who commit to a years subscription at $6.99 a month. It will also be substantially smaller akin to a pack of gum, with that size expect less power over big brother.
What makes GamePop stand out over other Android mini consoles is that it will offer iOS game titles. It remains to be seen how consumers will react to these new budget consoles let alone the subscription based plans GamePop will offer labelling it the Netflix of Games! Details are still sparse, but both models are expected late 2013 to early 2014.
